Frequently Asked Questions
Q.
Is the Reina Lago compatible with a heat pump?
A. Reina publish a Delta T30 output for the Lago in every size and finish, so it can be used on a heat pump system - use the Delta T30 column in our heat output table for accurate figures. Size the rail against that column rather than the gas boiler figures.
Q.
Can the Lago be used as an electric or dual fuel towel rail?
A. Yes - Reina list the Lago for central heating, electric and dual fuel. For electric or dual fuel use you need a compatible heating element, so please contact our team to confirm the right kit for your size before ordering.
Q.
What is the difference between Lago 1 and Lago 2?
A. Both are the same 450 x 600mm open-frame design, but Lago 1 has one horizontal crossbar and Lago 2 has two. The extra crossbar on Lago 2 gives it a higher heat output and a little more hanging space - check the table below to compare.
Q.
Why is the black Lago rated higher than chrome?
A. Reina's datasheet rates the black finish higher than chrome at every size - for example Lago 1 is 149W in chrome and 209W in black at Delta T50. A painted surface gives off more radiant heat than polished chrome, so if the Lago is your main heat source in a room, check the chrome figures in our table before you choose.
Q.
What valves do I need for the Lago?
A. Radiator valves are not supplied with the Lago, so you need a lockshield valve and a manual or thermostatic valve. Contact our team if you would like help choosing a pair that suits your pipework.
Q.
What are the pipe centres and wall distances on the Lago?
A. Pipe centres are 420mm on both sizes. Wall to pipe centres is 65 to 80mm, and the rail projects 105 to 120mm from the wall. Leave at least 50mm below any overhanging surface such as a shelf, and no lower than 100mm from the floor.
Q.
Which size Lago do I need?
A. Lago 1 and Lago 2 are both 450 x 600mm, in chrome or black. Use the room fit calculator on this page to see whether your chosen size and finish meets your room's heat loss, or contact our team for advice.
Q.
What is the maximum working temperature and pressure?
A. Reina's installation guide gives a maximum working temperature of 95 degrees C and a maximum working pressure of 4 bar. If you are unsure whether your system stays within those limits, ask your installer before ordering.
