Frequently Asked Questions
Q.
Is the Reina Pietra compatible with a heat pump?
A. Reina publish Delta T30 outputs for the Pietra, so it can be sized for a heat pump system - use the Delta T30 column in our heat output table for accurate figures. Steel warms up more slowly than aluminium, so allow a little longer to reach temperature.
Q.
What valves do I need for the Pietra?
A. Valves are not supplied. The Pietra has G1/2 inch connections, and Reina's installation guide lists a lockshield valve plus a manual or thermostatic valve as the items you need. The valves visible in the product photos are not included. Thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs) give you individual room control.
Q.
What are the pipe centres and connection positions?
A. Pipe centres are 100mm, wall to pipe centres 73-87mm and wall distance 108-122mm. The vertical connection axis is 300mm on the 530mm high model, 490mm on the 720mm and 870mm on the 1100mm. See the technical drawing on this page for the full layout.
Q.
Can the Pietra be mounted left or right handed?
A. Yes. Reina describe the Pietra as a reversible design that can be mounted left or right handed, so you can choose the side the open bars extend to.
Q.
Which size Pietra do I need?
A. Use the room fit calculator on this page. Enter your room dimensions and heating system type and it shows which size and finish meets your heat loss. All three heights are 530mm wide; the 1100mm high model gives the highest output.
Q.
Do the chrome and anthracite versions give the same heat output?
A. No. Reina's datasheet lists different outputs for each finish, so our table shows every size in both chrome and anthracite. Check the row for the finish you want before you choose.
Q.
Can the Pietra be used as an electric or dual fuel radiator?
A. Reina list the Pietra for central heating, electric and dual fuel. For the electric element kit and the right set-up for your room, contact our team and we will advise before you order.
Q.
What are the operating limits and warranty?
A. The installation guide gives a maximum working temperature of 95 degrees C and a maximum working pressure of 4 bar. The Pietra has a 5-year manufacturer guarantee. Reina state it must be fitted by a fully qualified installer.
