Frequently Asked Questions
Q.
Is the Reina Marco compatible with a heat pump?
A. Reina publish a Delta T30 output for all three Marco sizes, so it can be used on a heat pump system - use the Delta T30 column in our heat output table for accurate figures. Size the towel rail against that column rather than the gas boiler figures.
Q.
Can the Marco be used as an electric or dual fuel towel rail?
A. Reina list the Marco for central heating, electric and dual fuel. For electric or dual fuel use you need a compatible heating element, so please contact our team to confirm the right kit for your size before ordering.
Q.
What valves do I need for the Marco?
A. Radiator valves are not supplied, so you need a lockshield valve and a manual or thermostatic valve. Contact our team if you would like help choosing a pair that suits your pipework.
Q.
What is the difference between the three Marco sizes?
A. The 800 x 500mm has 18 bars and gives up to 305W at Delta T50, the 1100 x 500mm has 25 bars and gives up to 415W, and the 1400 x 500mm has 32 bars and gives up to 504W. All three are the same 500mm width and chrome finish, so choose the height that fits your wall and heat output need - check the table below for exact figures.
Q.
What are the pipe centres and wall distances on the Marco?
A. Pipe centres are 468mm on all three sizes, wall to pipe centres is 61 to 76mm and the distance from the wall is 137 to 152mm. Reina's guide says the radiator should not be mounted closer than 50mm below any overhanging surface such as a shelf, and no lower than 100mm from the floor.
Q.
Which size Marco do I need?
A. Use the room fit calculator on this page. Enter your room dimensions and your heating system type and it shows which Marco size meets your heat loss. The Marco comes in 800mm, 1100mm or 1400mm heights, all 500mm wide.
Q.
What is the maximum working temperature and pressure?
A. Reina's installation guide gives a maximum working temperature of 95 degrees C and a maximum working pressure of 4 bar. If you are unsure whether your system stays within those limits, ask your installer before ordering.
Q.
What is included in the box and who should fit it?
A. The Marco comes with four wall brackets, four wall anchors, four washers, four fixing screws, four security screws, an air vent and an end plug. Radiator valves are not included. Reina state it must be fitted by a fully qualified installer.
