300mm Wide Electric Towel Rails
Finding the perfect balance between saving wall space and practical everyday use can be tricky. Our 300mm wide electric towel rails offer the ideal sweet spot for small to medium bathrooms. At 30cm across, they remain slim enough to utilise awkward gaps, but provide a notably more generous hanging area than our ultra-compact sizes. Because they operate entirely independently from your boiler, these standalone electric units guarantee warm, fresh towels through every season, making them perfect for loft conversions, garden rooms, and en-suites.

Bold New Finishes
Stepping up to the 30cm width introduces stunning contemporary tones to our collection. For a slimmer profile in Chrome or White only, see our 250mm collection. For more hanging room, the 350mm range is the natural next step:
- Matte Black & Anthracite: Striking, modern finishes that hide fingerprints beautifully and serve as a focal point in industrial or minimalist bathrooms.
- Brilliant Chrome: The traditional choice for coordinating seamlessly with standard basin taps and shower heads.
- Crisp White: A high-efficiency finish that blends effortlessly into pale walls for a discreet look.
Customise Your Heating Control
Your 300mm towel radiator can be adapted to your daily routine by selecting the appropriate electrical element:
- Standard & LST Elements: Choose a basic single-heat element for continuous warmth, or a Low Surface Temperature (LST) version to safely restrict the maximum exterior heat in family homes. Browse our electric towel rail elements.
- Thermostatic Elements: Maintain ultimate control over the rail's temperature, minimising wasted energy while ensuring your bathroom stays cosy.
- WiFi Smart Elements: Connect to your home network and schedule precise drying cycles directly from your smartphone.
Essential Wiring & Accessories
This appliance must be hardwired by a Part P certified electrician to comply with building regulations. Enhance your setup with:
- Fused Spurs: Essential for providing a safe, permanent electrical connection to your mains power.
- Wall Timers & Boosters: Highly recommended for standard elements. These wall-mounted controllers let you initiate 1-to-5-hour stepped boost cycles so your radiator automatically powers down once your towels are dry. Browse wall controllers and timers.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much actual hanging space is there on a 300mm towel rail?
While the total outer width of the radiator is 300mm, the vertical collector tubes take up roughly 80mm of that space. This leaves a highly practical internal horizontal bar width of 220mm, giving you ample room to comfortably thread folded bath towels.
What size gap on my wall do I need to mount this?
The physical unit is 300mm wide. To ensure the brackets fit perfectly and you have enough comfortable clearance on either side to slide your towels on and off, we recommend allowing a total flat wall space of around 400mm.
Can the heating element be installed on either side of the towel rail?
Yes, the electrical heating element can be fitted to either the left or the right-hand side of the radiator to suit your existing wiring. However, the element must always be installed at the bottom of the towel rail. Installing it at the top bypasses the built-in overheat protection and is strictly prohibited for safety reasons.
What are the IP ratings for your electric towel rails?
The IP (Ingress Protection) rating is determined by the specific heating element you install. A standard on/off heating element carries a high IPX6 rating. Upgraded thermostatic and WiFi elements carry an IPX4 rating. Both are fully safe and compliant for bathroom use when installed correctly by an electrician.
How can I hang large bath sheets on a 300mm rail?
A 220mm internal gap handles standard towels beautifully when folded. If you are drying extra-large, heavy bath sheets, we recommend adding our Towel Rail Pegs—available in Black, Chrome, and White to perfectly match your chosen finish. These cleverly fit between the horizontal bars, allowing you to easily hook bulky items or robes right off the front of the radiator for maximum drying efficiency.
