Frequently Asked Questions
Q.
Is the Reina Avola compatible with a heat pump?
A. Reina publish a Delta T30 output for every Avola size, so it can be used on a heat pump system - use the Delta T30 column in our heat output table for accurate figures. Size the towel rail against that column rather than the gas boiler figures.
Q.
Can the Avola be used as an electric or dual fuel towel rail?
A. Reina list the Avola for central heating, electric and dual fuel. For electric or dual fuel use you need a compatible heating element, so please contact our team to confirm the right element kit for your size before ordering.
Q.
What valves do I need for the Avola?
A. The Avola has 1/2 inch female pipe thread connections. Radiator valves are not supplied, so you need a lockshield valve and a manual or thermostatic valve. Reina's pipe centre figure is 455mm on every size. Contact our team if you would like help choosing a pair that suits your pipework.
Q.
What are the pipe centres and wall distances on the Avola?
A. All three sizes are 500mm wide with pipe centres of 455mm. Wall to pipe centres is 55mm and the distance from the wall is 82mm. Keep the rail at least 50mm below any overhanging surface such as a shelf, and no lower than 100mm from the floor.
Q.
Which size Avola do I need?
A. The Avola comes in three sizes - 823 x 500mm, 1124 x 500mm and 1424 x 500mm - each in Black, White or Anthracite. Use the room fit calculator on this page to see which one meets your room's heat loss, or contact our team for advice on your room.
Q.
How many bars does the Avola have?
A. The 823mm Avola has 9 flat bars, the 1124mm has 12 bars and the 1424mm has 15 bars, giving you space to hang towels.
Q.
What is the maximum working temperature and pressure?
A. Reina's installation guide gives a maximum working pressure of 6 bar. Reina do not state a maximum working temperature for the Avola in the guide, so use the standard 95 degrees C limit for a mild steel radiator. If you are unsure whether your system stays within those limits, ask your installer before ordering.
Q.
What is included in the box and who should fit it?
A. The Avola comes with four wall brackets, four wall anchors, fixing screws, washers, security screws and an end plug. Radiator valves are not included. Reina state it must be fitted by a fully qualified installer.
