Frequently Asked Questions
Q.
Is the Reina Carpi compatible with a heat pump?
A. Reina publish a Delta T30 output for every Carpi size, so it can be used on a heat pump system - use the Delta T30 column in our heat output table for accurate figures. Size the towel rail against that column rather than the gas boiler figures.
Q.
Can the Carpi be used as an electric or dual fuel towel rail?
A. Reina list the Carpi for central heating, electric and dual fuel. For electric or dual fuel use you need a compatible heating element, so please contact our team to confirm the right element kit for your size before ordering.
Q.
What valves do I need for the Carpi?
A. Radiator valves are not supplied with the Carpi, so you need a lockshield valve and a manual or thermostatic valve. Pipe centres are 268mm on the 300mm-wide sizes, 368mm on the 400mm-wide sizes and 468mm on the 500mm-wide sizes. Contact our team if you would like help choosing a pair that suits your pipework.
Q.
What are the pipe centres and wall distances on the Carpi?
A. Pipe centres follow the width: 268mm on 300mm-wide models, 368mm on 400mm-wide models and 468mm on 500mm-wide models. Wall to pipe centres is 61 to 76mm and the distance from the wall is 77 to 92mm on every size.
Q.
Which size Carpi do I need?
A. The Carpi comes in six sizes from 800 x 300mm up to 1300 x 500mm, all in chrome. Use the room fit calculator on this page to see which one meets your room's heat loss, or contact our team for advice on your room.
Q.
How many bars does the Carpi have?
A. Bar count runs from 8 on the smallest 800mm-high sizes up to 13 on the 1300 x 500mm size - see the heat output table above for the exact count on each size.
Q.
What is the maximum working temperature and pressure?
A. Reina's installation guide gives a maximum working temperature of 95 degrees C and a maximum working pressure of 4 bar. If you are unsure whether your system stays within those limits, ask your installer before ordering.
Q.
What is included in the box and who should fit it?
A. The Carpi comes with four wall brackets, four wall anchors, fixing screws, washers, security screws, an air vent and an end plug. Radiator valves are not included. Reina state it must be fitted by a fully qualified installer.
