They work best in large family bathrooms, master en-suites, and any room where an 850mm or 950mm rail would not provide enough drying area. The extra bar length makes the difference when two or more people share a bathroom and need towels warming at the same time. Chrome Finish — Care and Maintenance

All rails in this collection use a triple-layer electroplated chrome finish over mild steel, pressure-tested to 10 bar working pressure. Surface temperature at 70°C flow / 50°C return is typically 45–55°C on the bars — comfortable to handle and effective for drying towels.

Chrome shows fingerprints and water spots more readily than powder-coat finishes, but wipes clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive pads or limescale removers containing hydrochloric acid — these dull the plating over time. A microfibre cloth after each use keeps the finish glossy long-term. For coastal properties or bathrooms with above-average humidity, chrome is more resistant to surface degradation than powder-coat finishes, making it the better long-term choice where moisture exposure is consistently high.

The pipe centre distance is 1050mm — the horizontal gap between the centre of the flow connection and the centre of the return. Measure between your existing pipe centres before ordering. If your pipes sit at 1050mm apart, these rails fit directly without any pipework changes. If your centres are slightly different, a plumber can adjust the tails during installation using standard 15mm copper fittings and angled valves, which give roughly ±15mm of horizontal play. The dual fuel models can also shift this further using the T-piece adaptor supplied with the dual fuel kit.

Is there a pre-filled electric option in the 800mm height?

Not currently in the 1100mm chrome range. Pre-filled electric is available in the 600mm height — this is the most practical pairing at this width, where the shorter height keeps running costs lower while the wide bar span gives generous towel-drying area. For the 800mm height with electric capability, the dual fuel version lets you run on the electric element independently when the boiler is off. Do the dual fuel 1100mm rails need a plumber and an electrician?

Yes — dual fuel installation requires both trades. A plumber connects the central heating side (1/2" BSP flow and return connections) and an electrician installs the element and wires the fused spur. The element fits into the rail via a sealed cable gland — no soldering required. Most installations are completed in under two hours once both trades are on site together. The element is ordered separately and fits from either the left or right bottom inlet.
