1100mm Wide Electric Towel Rails

When designing a bathroom on a truly grand scale, standard radiators simply disappear into the background. Our 1100mm wide electric towel rails are ultra-premium, architectural statement pieces engineered for the most expansive master suites, boutique hotel bathrooms, and luxury home spas. At a breathtaking 1.1 metres in width, these colossal standalone electric units provide an unprecedented amount of drying space, allowing you to lay multiple heavy bath sheets completely flat. Operating 100% independently of your central heating boiler, this massive drying hub guarantees your luxury towels remain warm, dry, and flawlessly presented every single day of the year.

An Exclusive, Highly Curated Selection

Because 1100mm is a highly specialised architectural width—typically reserved for custom-built homes and commercial luxury projects—we have streamlined this collection to feature only the two most perfectly proportioned sizes. Both models arrive fully sealed and pre-loaded with specialist, rust-inhibiting thermal fluid, ready for professional electrical installation.

Statement Finishes for a 1.1-Metre Canvas

A radiator spanning over a metre across will define the aesthetic of your entire washroom. Three premium finishes are available to complement this monumental scale:

  • Brilliant Chrome: The ultimate in reflective luxury. On a 1.1-metre scale, a mirror-like chrome finish bounces natural light beautifully, preventing the massive unit from feeling too heavy while tying your modern brassware together.
  • Crisp White: A minimalist, high-efficiency coating that allows this colossal unit to blend seamlessly into large expanses of bright, airy tiling.
  • Matte Anthracite & Black: A fearless, contemporary choice that radiates heat aggressively and creates a jaw-dropping focal point in industrial or ultra-modern spaces.

Managing the Power of an Ultra-Wide Rail

A 1.1-metre wide electric rail draws a significant amount of power to heat its massive surface area. Choosing the right electrical control is critical for energy efficiency:

  • WiFi Smart Elements: The standout choice for a radiator of this magnitude. Program strict, automated heating schedules from your smartphone down to the minute, so this powerful unit only draws electricity right before you step into the bath.
  • Thermostatic Elements: Take manual control of your power draw by physically dialling the radiator’s surface temperature up or down.
  • Standard & LST Elements: For basic, steady warmth. If you have concerns about the exterior heat of such a massive metal surface in a family setting, a Low Surface Temperature (LST) variant provides peace of mind.
  • Wall Timers & Boosters: Mandatory with a standard on/off element. Wiring this mega-rail into a wall booster lets you trigger controlled 1–5-hour drying cycles, automatically killing the power so you never accidentally leave it running all day.

Before You Buy

Before purchasing, we highly recommend checking our towel radiator size guide to ensure the perfect fit for your wall space.

Make sure to review our standard installation requirements to prepare your bathroom plumbing or electrical connections.

If you are selecting an electric model, refer to our heating element guide, and always use our BTU calculator to match the output to your room size.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much actual horizontal hanging space does a 1.1-metre rail provide?
The physical edge-to-edge footprint is 1,100mm. Once you account for the 80mm required by the left and right vertical collector columns, you unlock a staggering 1,020mm of internal horizontal hanging width—over a full metre of uninterrupted space, enough to lay several oversized bath sheets completely flat side by side. If your wall is slightly short of the 1,200mm this size needs, the 1000mm range gives 920mm of internal space and fits walls from 1,100mm.
What is the minimum flat wall footprint required to install this model?
Allow a total clear wall area of at least 1,200mm (1.2 metres). This covers the rail width, the heavy-duty mounting brackets, and enough lateral clearance to physically slide towels onto the outer edges. If you have the space to go larger, the 1200mm option is our widest size and needs around 1,300mm of clear wall.
Does an 1100mm electric rail need to be mounted on a specific type of wall?
Because of its 1.1-metre width and the volume of thermal fluid inside, this radiator carries significant weight. While it can be installed on most walls, if you are mounting it to a hollow stud (plasterboard) wall, your installer must ensure the brackets are anchored securely into the timber studs or reinforced with heavy-duty plasterboard fixings.
Do I ever need to bleed the air out of this massive radiator?
No. Even at this scale, the unit is a 100% standalone electrical appliance. It is permanently sealed at the factory and pre-filled with specialised, rust-inhibiting thermal liquid. Because it operates completely independently of your home’s central heating pipes, it will never require bleeding, flushing, or pressure maintenance.
Can the heating element go on either side?
Yes—the design is fully reversible and the element can be screwed into either the left or right-hand vertical tube to match your fused spur location. However, it must always be installed at the very bottom of the unit. Fitting an element into the top completely bypasses the internal thermal safety cut-offs and poses a severe overheating hazard.
