The Reina Solara is a tall, slim dry electric towel rail in grade 304 stainless steel. At 1500mm high and just 400mm wide, it delivers a striking vertical presence without consuming wall space. The Solara uses a dry heating element — no water inside the rail. Here is what that means in practice.
Zero corrosion risk No water inside
No water means no limescale, no inhibitors, no bleeding, and no corrosion — ever. The stainless steel body handles steam-heavy bathrooms without any maintenance.

No water to warm through. The dry element responds to the thermostat almost immediately — operating temperature in minutes, not 20–30 minutes like a pre-filled rail.

Is it plug-in or does it need a qualified electrician?
A. Hardwired only — not a plug-in rail. A qualified electrician must connect it to a dedicated fused spur. In England and Wales, a new bathroom circuit falls under Part P of Building Regulations and must be completed or certified by a registered competent person. No plumber required.

Why does Matt Black have a higher wattage than the other finishes?
A. The Matt Black Solara (ESLRK) uses a 145W element; Brushed Brass, Gun Metal, and Polished Stainless Steel use a 130W element. In practice the difference is small — both outputs are more than adequate for towel warming. Dimensions, projection, fixings, and installation method are identical across all four finishes.

Can it run in summer with the central heating off?
A. Yes — entirely independent of your boiler. Switch it on whenever you want warm towels, regardless of season. No minimum system pressure, no seasonal shutdown, no waiting for the heating to come on.

What is dry electric — how is it different from a pre-filled rail?
A. A pre-filled rail contains water and glycol — the element heats the liquid which heats the body. A dry electric rail like the Solara has no water inside: the element heats the stainless body directly. Faster heat-up, zero corrosion risk, no limescale, and you never need to bleed it.

How does the built-in timer work?
A. Countdown timer, not a weekly scheduler. Press to select 1–8 hours; the rail switches off automatically when the period ends. Press again after 8 hours for continuous mode. For a fixed daily start time, an electrician can fit a separate compliant timer switch on the fused spur circuit.

Will the cable be visible after installation?
A. Not with the concealed wiring method — both concealed and surface-mount wiring options are included in the box. Using the concealed option, the cable threads into the wall and decorative caps cover all fixings, leaving a clean floating installation with no visible hardware or cable.

Will it rust — is it genuinely stainless steel?
A. Yes — grade 304 stainless steel body, not chrome-plated mild steel. Stainless is inherently corrosion-resistant in bathroom humidity. The coloured finishes (Matt Black, Gun Metal, Brushed Brass) are applied coatings over stainless, not paint. Clean with a soft damp cloth only — avoid abrasive pads and harsh chemical cleaners.
