The Reina Pelmo is an ultra-slim dry electric radiator in premium stainless steel — 1500mm tall and just 200mm wide. Why Dry Electric?
The Pelmo uses a dry heating element — no water inside the radiator. Here is what that means in practice.
Zero corrosion risk No water inside
No water means no limescale, no inhibitors, no bleeding, and no internal corrosion — ever. The stainless steel body handles humid environments without maintenance.
Instant heat-up No water mass
No water to warm through. The dry element heats the stainless body almost immediately — operating temperature in minutes, not 20–30 minutes like a pre-filled radiator.
Install anywhere No pipework needed
No plumber, no central heating, no existing pipework. A dedicated fused spur is all it needs — suitable for any room including spaces with no water supply nearby.

Does it need an electrician or can I plug it in?
A. Hardwired only. A qualified electrician must connect it to a dedicated fused spur. In England and Wales, a new circuit is notifiable under Part P of Building Regulations. No plumber required.

Does it have a thermostat or timer?
A. No — the Pelmo has simple on/off operation. There is no built-in thermostat or countdown timer. To control when it runs, your electrician can fit a separate compliant timer switch on the fused spur circuit, giving you programmable on/off times without needing any in-rail controls.

Can it fit where a standard radiator won't?
A. Yes — 200mm is extremely narrow for a full-height radiator. The Pelmo is specifically designed for tight spaces: beside a door frame, between a basin and a wall, or at the end of a corridor. Allow at least 300mm of clear wall space to account for bracket clearance on each side of the 200mm body.

Why do Brushed Brass and Gun Metal cost more?
A. The Brushed Brass (EPLOB) and Brushed Gun Metal (EPLOG) finishes require a more complex surface treatment process than Matt Black (EPLOK) and Polished Stainless Steel (EPLOC). The £32 premium reflects this. Heat output, dimensions, and installation are identical across all four finishes.

Can it run in summer with the central heating off?
A. Yes — entirely independent of your boiler. No water, no system pressure, no seasonal shutdown. Switch it on any time of year via the fused spur switch or a timer on the circuit.

Will it rust — is it genuine stainless steel?
A. Yes — stainless steel body, inherently corrosion-resistant. The coloured finishes (Brushed Brass, Brushed Gun Metal, Matt Black) are coatings over stainless. Clean with a soft damp cloth — avoid abrasive pads and acidic cleaners.

How much does it cost to run?
A. At 25p/kWh: 2.375p per hour. Running 4 hours a day is about 9.5p per day — approximately £2.85 per month. At 8 hours a day, around £5.70 per month. All four finishes run at 95W.
