Central heating. Mild steel column. Vertical designer.
Product Overview & Key Specs
The Reina Colona Vertical is a mild steel column central heating radiator, available 1500mm or 1800mm high, in widths from 200mm to 380mm, with 2 or 3 columns. Choose White, Anthracite or Raw Steel Lacquer. A tall column profile delivers a high heat output from a narrow footprint, and the thick steel body holds its heat after the boiler switches off.

Why Mild Steel for Central Heating?
Three practical reasons a steel column radiator suits a modern central heating system.
Robust buildHard-wearing ✔
Thick-wall steel with a durable factory finish. A column radiator takes knocks and keeps its looks in hallways, kitchens and busy rooms.
Holds its heatSteady warmth ✔
Steel retains heat after the boiler switches off, so the room temperature stays steady instead of dropping away between cycles.
Column profileClassic look
A traditional column silhouette in 2 or 3 column widths, giving a generous surface area for the heat output it delivers.

Heat Output by Size, Columns & System
Calculated to EN 442. ΔT60 = high-temp boilers (80°C flow). ΔT50 = standard gas boiler (75/65°C). ΔT30 = heat pump (50/40°C). Output is the same across all three finishes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q.
Is the Reina Colona Vertical compatible with a heat pump?
A. It is rated at Delta T30, so it will work on a heat pump system - use the Delta T30 column in our heat output table for accurate figures. Steel warms up more slowly than aluminium, so if your system runs at low flow temperatures year-round an aluminium model will respond faster.
Q.
What valves do I need for the Colona Vertical?
A. The Colona Vertical has standard BSP connections. We recommend thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs) for individual room control. Allow for your chosen valve set when measuring pipe centres - add 90mm to the width for pipe centres including valves.
Q.
What are the pipe centres on the Colona Vertical?
A. Pipe centres equal the radiator width - 200, 290 or 380mm. Wall to pipe centres is 66mm and the wall distance is 98mm, as stated on Reina's datasheet.
Q.
Should I choose 2 or 3 columns?
A. The 3-column version gives a higher heat output than the 2-column version at the same height and width, for a small increase in projection from the wall. Use the room fit calculator on this page to check which delivers enough heat for your room.
Q.
Which height Colona Vertical do I need?
A. Use the room fit calculator on this page. Enter your room dimensions and heating system type - the calculator shows whether the radiator will meet your heat loss. The 1800mm height gives more output in the same footprint than the 1500mm, which suits taller walls and larger rooms.
Q.
What finishes is the Colona Vertical available in?
A. White and Anthracite are available across all 12 height/width/column combinations. Raw Steel Lacquer is available in the 1800mm height, 290mm and 380mm widths only, in both 2 and 3 column.
Q.
Can the Colona Vertical be used as an electric or dual fuel radiator?
A. Reina list the Colona Vertical for central heating only - it is not available as an electric or dual fuel radiator.
Q.
Why choose a mild steel column radiator?
A. Steel is robust, takes a hard-wearing finish and holds its heat after the boiler switches off, which smooths out temperature swings. A column profile gives a traditional look with a high heat output for the wall space it uses.
