Why Dry Electric with Ceramic Core?
The Aron combines a ceramic heating core with WiFi control. Here is what that means in practice.
Ceramic core retains heat Efficient
The ceramic element stores heat and continues radiating after the element cycles off. Combined with the WiFi thermostat, this means less on-time and better temperature stability.
WiFi thermostat App control
Control the Aron from the Smart Life app on your phone (Android and iOS), or by Google Home or Alexa voice control. Adjust the temperature and modes remotely. Needs a 2.4GHz WiFi network.
Install anywhere No pipework
No plumber, no central heating connection. It only needs a nearby socket — suitable for extensions, conversions, and rooms that have never had a radiator.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q.
Can I use the Aron in a bathroom?
A. The Aron is rated IPX0, which means no protection against water, and Reina says not to use it in the immediate surroundings of a bath, shower or swimming pool. It is suited to dry rooms such as bedrooms, living rooms and studies. For a bathroom, choose an electric towel rail with a waterproof element.
Q.
Can I use it with a timer or smart plug?
A. No. Reina says not to use the Aron with an external timer, programmer or any device that switches it on automatically, because there is a fire risk if the heater is covered. Use the built-in weekly timer or the Smart Life app instead.
Q.
Does it need a plumber?
A. No. Dry electric, no water or pipework. The Aron comes with a 3-pin UK plug and is fixed to the wall with the supplied brackets. Reina advises using a qualified electrician if you are not sure about the installation.
Q.
What is the ceramic core?
A. The Aron uses a ceramic element that stores heat and continues radiating after the element switches off. Combined with the WiFi thermostat, this enables more efficient cycling — the element runs less but the room stays at temperature.
Q.
Which wattage do I need?
A. 700W up to ~7m², 1000W up to ~10m², 1500W for 10–16m², 2000W up to ~20m². The ceramic core means you can size slightly down compared to a basic element. Use the BTU calculator for a precise figure.
Q.
What does the WiFi thermostat do?
A. Download the free Smart Life app, add the Aron and control it from your phone. Change the temperature and modes from anywhere with internet access. It works on iOS and Android, and the radiator connects to a 2.4GHz WiFi network. The Aron also has a built-in LCD display and weekly timer.
Q.
White or Matt Black?
A. White blends naturally in lighter rooms and feels less imposing. Matt Black makes a bold design statement and looks stunning against light walls. Same aluminium body and ceramic core either way.
Q.
Can it run with the central heating off?
A. Yes — entirely independently. No water, no boiler connection. Any time of year.
Q.
How much does it cost to run?
A. At 25p/kWh: 700W = 17.5p/hr, 1000W = 25p/hr, 1500W = 37.5p/hr, 2000W = 50p/hr. Ceramic core and WiFi thermostat reduce actual on-time and total spend.
