Fitting the PK3

The bracket is lowered onto the radiator from above, then set to height and fixed to the floor.

Check the radiator

Confirm it is a type 11, 21, 22 or 33 panel radiator, 300–1000 mm high, with no central connections.

Fit the brackets to the radiator

The PK3 clip locates on the radiator panel from above (see step 1 in the manual). Use one bracket at each end.

Set the height

Adjust so the underside of the radiator is 150 mm to 200 mm above the floor.

Fix to the floor and cover

Screw the base plate down through the slots using fixings suited to your floor, then close the two-part QKP floor cover over it.

Always follow the maker's manual. Fixing choice and floor strength are the installer's responsibility.

Questions about the PK3

What is the PK3 floor bracket for?

The PK3 is a floor-standing radiator bracket (radiator foot) for panel radiators. It holds the radiator off the floor from underneath instead of hanging it from the wall. PK3 is the configuration for a finished floor. For a raw floor the maker offers the PK1 version.

Which radiators does the PK3 fit?

Panel radiators of type 11, 21, 22 and 33, from 300 mm up to 1000 mm high, without central connections. Radiators with pipework entering at the centre of the underside are not covered by this bracket.

How high will the radiator sit off the floor?

The distance from the floor to the bottom of the radiator is adjustable from 150 mm to 200 mm. The bracket's overall adjustable height range is 320 mm to 370 mm.

What is included in the pack?

One pair: 2 x PK3 floor brackets, 2 x QKP floor covers and 2 x QKK radiator clips, the same contents as maker kit 60741003. Floor fixing screws and plugs depend on your floor, so choose them to suit the substrate.

How much load can it take?

The data sheet gives F1 2000 N (vertical), F2 700 N and F3 400 N (horizontal directions) for a single fastener under ideal test conditions. The fixing method, the floor's load-bearing capacity and the radiator's suitability remain the installer's responsibility.

Is the PK3 tested or certified?

Yes. The PK3 is TÜV SÜD type tested (certificate B 15 01 68251 002) and VDI 6036 conform. The design is patented.

How big is the base plate and how is it fixed?

The base plate is 114 mm x 90 mm with Ø9 mm slotted holes (hole centres 79 mm, 43 mm and 65 mm apart as shown in the drawing), so it can be screwed down through the slots.

Should I choose the PK3 or the PK1?

Choose by floor: the PK3 is for a finished floor, the PK1 is for a raw floor. Both take the same radiators (types 11, 21, 22, 33, 300–1000 mm high, no central connections). See the PK1 floor brackets.
