Frequently Asked Questions
Q.
Is the Reina Ancora compatible with a heat pump?
A. Reina publish a Delta T30 output for the Ancora, 481W (1,640 BTU) in both finishes, so it can be used on a heat pump system. Use the Delta T30 column in our heat output table for accurate figures and size the radiator against that column rather than the gas boiler figures.
Q.
Can the Ancora be used as an electric or dual fuel radiator?
A. No. Reina list the Ancora for central heating only, so it connects to your boiler or heat pump circuit and is not available as an electric or dual fuel radiator.
Q.
What valves do I need for the Ancora?
A. Radiator valves are not supplied, so you need a lockshield valve and a manual or thermostatic valve. The inlet and outlet connections are 1/2 inch female, and Reina's pipe centre figure is 490mm. For a measurement including valves you add 90mm. Contact our team if you would like help choosing a pair that suits your pipework.
Q.
Can I hang towels on the Ancora?
A. Reina describe the Ancora as having integral slots for towel hanging, and the panel has five of them. It is a flat panel radiator rather than a dedicated towel rail, so check the heat output table if you also need it to warm the room.
Q.
What are the pipe centres and wall distances on the Ancora?
A. The Ancora is 1800mm high and 490mm wide, with pipe centres of 490mm. Wall to pipe centres is 35 to 55mm and the distance from the wall is 68 to 88mm, according to Reina's datasheet.
Q.
Which size Ancora do I need?
A. The Ancora comes in one size, 1800 x 490mm, in white or anthracite, and both finishes have the same heat output. Use the room fit calculator on this page to see whether it meets your room's heat loss, or contact our team for advice on your room.
Q.
What is the maximum working temperature and pressure?
A. Reina's installation guide gives a maximum working pressure of 6 bar, and we list a maximum working temperature of 95 degrees C. If you are unsure whether your system stays within those limits, ask your installer before ordering.
Q.
What is included in the box and who should fit it?
A. The Ancora comes with four wall mounting brackets, four panel mounting brackets, four screws, four pegs, four M5 x 10mm bolts and a purger. Radiator valves are not included. We recommend that it is fitted by a qualified installer.
