Choose your fuel type
This listing is the central-heating version. Same design, three ways to power it — make sure you're on the right page for your setup.
Central heating You're here
Connects to your boiler via valves. Heats whenever your central heating is on.
Electric only Independent
Pre-filled and ready to plug in. Run independently of your boiler — ideal for rooms without existing pipework.
Dual fuel Best of both
Central heating in winter, electric in summer. Warm towels year-round without running your boiler.
Pipe Centres & Heat Output
Measure the distance between the centres of your two pipes, then choose that column. Pipe centres are always 50mm less than the overall rail width.

Choosing Your Valve Type
Three valve types — which one you need depends on where your pipes come out.

Straight inline Floor pipes
Choose this when pipework comes straight up out of the floor directly below the rail inlets.

Angled Wall pipes
For pipes that exit horizontally from the wall. The valve turns 90° upward into the rail.

Corner Wall pipes
A tighter alternative for wall pipes — sits flush to the wall for a cleaner, lower-profile finish.
TRV valves are not suitable for towel rails — fitting one could leave your towels damp and smelling. Find out why ↗

Frequently Asked Questions
Q.
Can this towel rail run electric-only or dual-fuel?
A. Yes — add a heating element and this rail runs as electric-only or dual-fuel. We pre-fill electric rails with a minimum 85% reverse-osmosis water and inhibitor mix, leaving an air gap for expansion. Elements fit at the bottom left or right; heat rises, so top-mounted elements won't work properly.
Q.
What pipe centres does this rail come in?
A. Four sizes at this 1800mm height: 400mm, 450mm, 500mm and 550mm. Pipe centres are always 50mm less than the overall rail width, so 400mm pipe centres = 450mm wide rail, 450mm = 500mm wide, 500mm = 550mm wide, 550mm = 600mm wide.
Q.
How do I measure my pipe centres?
A. Measure from the centre of one pipe to the centre of the other. Choose the matching size in the options above. Angled valves add roughly ±15mm of horizontal play, so small differences are absorbed.
Q.
How much heat does it give out?
A. Output rises with width: 1,501 BTU (440W) at 400mm pipe centres up to 1,998 BTU (586W) at 550mm. The table above shows every size at ΔT30, ΔT50 and ΔT60 — pick the column that matches your pipe centres.
Q.
Is the chrome finish rust-resistant?
A. Yes — the chrome plating sits over high-quality mild steel and resists rust and tarnishing in normal bathroom conditions. The rail is BS EN 442 tested and carries a 5-year warranty.
Q.
Does it come with fixings?
A. Yes — 4× adjustable chrome brackets, screws, rawl plugs and washers, plus a blanking plug and bleed plug. Valves are sold separately so you can match straight, angled or corner to your pipework.
Q.
Can I wall-mount it in a small bathroom?
A. At 1800mm tall you need clear wall height above the floor and below any ceiling line. Narrow 400/450mm pipe centres suit tighter walls while still giving 1,501-1,667 BTU. If headroom is tight, drop to a shorter height in the same range, such as our 1600mm pipe-centre rail.
