Check It Works With Your Towel Rail

Works with Single Heat and ER-Touch thermostatic elements.

An external timer needs a towel rail that restarts heating when the power returns. To check, turn your towel rail on, switch its fused spur off, wait 10 to 15 seconds, then switch it back on. If the rail carries on heating from where it left off, it will work with this timer. The ER-Touch thermostatic element and the Single Heat element are designed for it.

Where to Fit It

Mount the timer on the wall, outside the bathroom, in a 25mm deep back box. It replaces a standard fused connection unit: the supply connects to L IN and N IN and the towel rail to L OUT and N OUT. If the back box is metal it must be earthed. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Prefer to control the rail from your phone? See our WiFi fused spur timer.
