Frequently Asked Questions
Q.
Does this valve come as a pair?
A. Yes. Each order is one matched pair: a thermostatic (TRV) valve and a lockshield valve, so you have both connections needed for one radiator.
Q.
What does "corner" mean on a radiator valve?
A. Corner describes the shape of the valve body: the inlet and outlet sit at 90 degrees to each other, turning the pipe from the wall down into the radiator. Reina also make Straight and Angled versions of the Modal valve for other pipe layouts, so check which shape matches your existing pipework before ordering - the three body shapes are not interchangeable once fitted.
Q.
Is this a thermostatic (TRV) or a manual valve?
A. It's thermostatic. The numbered valve is the TRV, letting you set and hold a temperature automatically; the second valve in the pair is a manual lockshield, used once to balance the system rather than adjusted day to day.
Q.
Will this valve fit my radiator?
A. It has a standard 15mm x 1/2" BSP connection, used on most UK towel rails and radiators. Reducer adaptors are available separately for 8mm or 10mm microbore pipe. Please double-check your pipework comes from the wall in a corner layout (rather than straight up or angled) before ordering, since the valve body shape has to match how your pipes are already run.
Q.
How durable is the brushed finish?
A. Reina's brushed finish is intended for everyday bathroom and hallway use. As with any plated or coated metal finish, avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads - wipe with a soft, damp cloth to keep the finish looking clean.
Q.
What is this valve made from?
A. Reina list the Modal valve range as stainless steel. Reina do not publish a full datasheet for this accessory, so please contact our team if you need this confirmed in more detail before ordering.
